Job summary

LJB Engineering Company is seeking an Entry Level Tunnel Engineer for our Columbus, OH office. Ideal candidates have 0-3 years' experience in geotechnical, underground, tunnel, or trenchless projects, and possess strong analytical and writing skills.

The role involves producing calculations and reports, assisting with design parameters and field observations, and communicating clearly with owners, contractors, and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or related field.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant technical codes, operations, processes, and trends.

Responsibilities

• Produce technical deliverables per client specs with guidance.
• Prepare construction plans, calculations and design reports with guidance.
• Communicate technical and non-technical information in meetings with owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Produce tunnel, geotechnical, and structural calculations including numerical analysis.
• Assist with geotechnical data reports (GDRs) and GBRs.
• Assist with design parameters from geotechnical reports and project documents.
• Assist with structural engineering of tunnel, shaft, and stations.
• Observe field work on an as-needed basis.
• Field assignments may include weekdays, nights, and weekends.
