Job summary

LJB Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an Entry Level Tunnel Engineer for our office. The ideal candidate will have 0–3 years of experience in geotechnical, underground, tunnel, or trenchless projects and a collaborative, forward-thinking mindset.

You will produce technical deliverables, assist with design calculations and reports, and communicate clearly with owners, contractors, and stakeholders. Field observations are required, with a standard weekday schedule and occasional night or weekend work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or related field.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical, underground, tunnel, or trenchless projects.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends.

Responsibilities

• Produce technical deliverables per client specifications with guidance.
• Prepare construction plans, designs, calculations, and reports with guidance.
• Communicate technical and non-technical information in meetings with owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Produce tunnel, geotechnical, and structural calculations for trenchless design and supports.
• Assist with geotechnical data reports and baseline reports.
• Assist with geotechnical engineering for tunnel projects and parameter development.
• Assist with structural engineering for tunnels, shafts, and stations including lining and supports.
• Observe field construction; expect weekday, night, and weekend work.
• Office-based work during standard weekday hours.
