Job summary

Securiport LLC in Reston, VA is seeking a detail-oriented accountant to manage financial paperwork, prepare statements, and support executive leadership on finance matters. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or eight years related experience.
• Minimum four years in General Ledger Accounting with GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Oracle/NetSuite and Excel is required.
• Spanish bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all incoming financial paperwork including invoices, bills, and donations.
• Review and ensure timely approvals and payments; maintain records.
• Track expenses and reconcile accounts; prepare monthly statements.
• Perform monthly revenue/expense reconciliations and quarterly variances.
• Assist with tax preparation and file annual returns; support financial reports.

Securiport LLC is a US company based in Reston, VA, that specializes in the design and implementation of passenger biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent information reporting and management systems based on advanced technological solutions. Securiport provides a complete immigration processing solution and analytics to maintain border security. Services include technical analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of Securiport’s software solutions, training, and technical support to the field operations.’

This position will work closely with the Treasurer and Executive Board Member to perform overall accounting and financial administration duties. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented accountant with a strong finance background who can manage financial paperwork, track expenses and donations, process payments, and prepare financial statements. In addition, they should have experience working with senior executives on financial matters.

Essential Functions

• Manage all incoming financial paperwork, including invoices, bills, donations, and other documentation.
• Ensure proper review, approvals, and timely payments.
• Track expenses for necessary accounts and maintain organized records of expenditures.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of Global Operation revenues and expenses.
• Provide quarterly summary of operational revenue and expendeture variances.
• Process payments and reimbursements. Classify transactions and enter them into accounting software.
• Download credit card statements and follow up on any refunds or discrepancies.
• Perform various account reconciliation duties and wire transfer responsibilities.
• Perform Travel and Purchase Card reconcilaitions.
• Assist the supervisor with aspects of financial analysis and help put together various financial reports.
• Use QuickBooks or similar accounting software for data entry, payment tracking, and reporting.
• Generate financial statements and reports for management and tax purposes.
• Assist with annual tax preparation and filing for the organization and related entities.
• Monitor liabilities, personal credit, and other finance-related tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Oracle/Net Suite and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and investigative skills
• PowerPoint presentation skills
• Spanish bilingual proficiency highly preferred

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
• Four (4) or more years of experience in General Ledger Accounting required
• In lieu of a degree, a total of eight (8) years of experience in a related field will meet the education and experience requirements

Physical Job Requirements

• This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
• The person in this position may need to move about the corporate office less than half the time
• This position operates machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex: typing) all of the time
• This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
