A consulting firm in Columbus is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to support the design and development of roadway infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and ideally some experience in roadway design. Responsibilities include assisting with design calculations, preparing construction documents, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is required.
Internship or co-op experience in transportation or roadway design is preferred.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
Understanding of basic roadway design principles and civil engineering fundamentals is important.
Responsibilities
Assist with the design of roadway and highway projects, including alignments and grading plans.
Support preparation of construction documents such as plan sets and profiles.
Perform engineering calculations related to roadway geometry and drainage.
Assist with development of project specifications and cost estimates.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in design reviews.
Assist with field visits and construction support activities as needed.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
Internship or co‑op experience in roadway or transportation design preferred
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
Understanding of basic roadway design principles and civil engineering fundamentals
Ability to follow established design standards and work under supervision
