Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking an Associate Engineer to join the California High-Speed Rail Authority program delivery team in California. You will provide entry-level engineering and CAD drafting support, under senior staff guidance, helping with design, documentation, and project coordination for a major infrastructure program.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) and collaboration with engineers, designers, surveyors, and field staff to ensure accurate drawings

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field with 1 year of work experience or 5 years if non-degreed
• Proficient in CAD software and ability to learn project-specific tools
• Strong communication and documentation skills, detail-oriented and time-conscious

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings, sketches, exhibits, and construction support documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other approved CAD software
• Assist engineers with engineering design, drafting, and construction support activities for transportation infrastructure projects
• Review drawings, plans, specs, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy under guidance of senior staff
• Incorporate redline markups and revisions into engineering drawings and maintain drawing files
• Support field staff with construction sketches, record drawings, and as-built documentation
• Assist with engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, technical reports, and presentations
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, surveyors, construction managers, contractors, and project team members
• Maintain organized electronic files and assist with document management and version control
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and coordination activities
• Perform other engineering and technical duties as assigned
