Job summary

WSP is seeking an Entry Level Assistant Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Delivery Team in Overland Park, Kansas. You will contribute to transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, while supporting budget, schedule, and QA/QC processes.

The role involves learning PLS-CADD modeling and working with utilities and partners to ensure safe, efficient project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university (Civil Engineering Preferred).
• The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
• Support the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been established.
• Maintaining a project budget and schedule.
• Facilitate and adhere to WSP’s QA/QC procedures.
• Develop transmission line design expertise pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, structure loading, material procurement, construction specifications, construction methods, construction estimates, and construction support.
• Travel to field, as needed.
