Job summary

Copper Roots, Inc is seeking an Entry Level Transmission Line Engineer to join our Austin or Fort Worth, TX offices. You will assist in the design and analysis of overhead transmission line projects under licensed engineers, gaining hands-on experience through design and construction phases.

Responsibilities include HV line design with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, structure loading, sag analysis, and coordination with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Basic knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of high-voltage overhead transmission lines (69kV to 345kV) using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Perform structure loading calculations, conductor sag analysis, and line routing studies.
• Support the preparation of engineering drawings, material lists, technical reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NESC, ASCE, RUS, IEEE, and ACI.
• Collaborate with team members to successfully execute projects.
• Coordinate with clients and other stakeholders on the status of the project.
• Provide technical support during bidding, procurement, and construction phases.
• Conduct site visits and work with field teams to ensure project success.
• Ensure overall quality of design tasks and project deliverables through adherence of quality procedures.
