Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking an Entry-Level Transmission Engineer to join its Transmission and Distribution team in Rochester, NY. You will assist in the design and development of overhead and underground transmission projects, working closely with seasoned engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program and has 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from accredited college
• 0-3 Years’ experience
• A PE license is not required, but the pursuit of one is expected
• Understands how to read design drawings
• Proactive, collaborative, and able to work with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional communication with coworkers, staff, project managers, and other disciplines
• Assist with detailed engineering drawings for underground and overhead transmission lines
• Develop complete design packages for construction with all necessary details
• Develop structure framing details including hardware, insulators, and grounding
• Prepare load-bearing element details (duct banks, vaults, etc.) and related components
• Perform periodic site visits to verify design intent and support construction
• Coordinate with internal/external resources and attend meetings to update design status
• Perform detailed calculations and create clear calculation reports
• Assist in cost estimate preparation
• Develop knowledge of document control, QA/QC, and safety standards
• Ensure complete and accurate record-keeping and quality of work
