Job summary

LaBella Associates in Rochester, NY is seeking an Entry-Level Transmission Engineer to join our Transmission and Distribution team. You will assist in designing overhead and underground transmission projects alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering and 0-3 years of experience, with a drive to grow into a technical leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• 0-3 Years’ experience.
• PE license is not required, but the pursuit is expected.
• Understands how to read design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating professionally with coworkers, staff, project managers, and all employees.
• Assist with the creation of detailed engineering drawings for underground and overhead transmission lines based on client and industry standards.
• Assist with the development of complete design packages that include construction details (staking tables, stringing charts, etc.).
• Develop structure framing details including hardware, insulators, and grounding per standards.
• Develop load-bearing element details (duct banks, vaults, etc.) including spacers, splicing, grounding per standards.
• Perform periodic site visits to verify design intent and provide engineering support during construction.
• Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop detailed designs and attend meetings for status updates.
