Job summary

The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to perform traffic studies and analyses, and to engage in signal design, ITS and lighting tasks following state and municipal standards.

You will work with engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway projects, learn design aspects, and gain exposure to modeling tools while developing cost estimates and signal plans. This is an entry-level program with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil or Electrical Engineering required or equivalent.
• EIT certification preferred but not required.
• 0–3 years of traffic engineering experience desirable.
• Familiarity with ITS technologies a plus.
• Knowledge of NJDOT/NJTA/NYSDOT a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the project team on roadway and transit projects.
• Assist in traffic analyses, studies, and design support.
• Learn planning and design aspects of projects.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities.
• Design and plan traffic signals and timings per standards.
• Develop traffic signal plans and gain modeling exposure.
