Job summary

Dewberry’s Mount Laurel, NJ office seeks an entry-level Traffic Engineer to join the Traffic Engineering Department. You’ll learn and perform traffic studies, analyses, signal design, ITS, and lighting tasks in line with state and municipal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• 0-3 years experience in the field of traffic engineering.
• Familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and/or PANYNJ highway projects preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects
• Perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks
• Ability to learn planning and design aspects of projects
• Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities
• Design Traffic Signals and signal timings per agency standards
• Prepare Traffic Signal plans
• Experienced in or have the ability to learn traffic modeling
• Prior software experience including Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AIMSUN, CUBE, TransCAD, ARCGIS a plus
