Job summary

Galloway & Company, LLC in Virginia is seeking an entry-level transportation engineer to support traffic engineering projects through data analysis, simulation modeling, and technical report preparation.

You'll evaluate intersection operations, active transportation facilities, roadway design, and parking studies, using Synchro, VISSIM, and AutoCAD, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on land development projects to deliver safe, efficient transportation solutions.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning.
FE or E.I.T. preferred.
Typically, 0 to 3 years of experience.
Knowledge of traffic analysis and design software (HCS, CAD, Synchro, VISSIM preferred).
Experience with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Conduct capacity and queueing analyses at stop-controlled, signalized intersections, and roundabouts.
Prepare trip generation forecasts.
Assist with traffic impact studies, technical reports, and parking studies.
Review roadway geometrics and signal timings.
Evaluate roadway segment operations using macrosimulation and microsimulation software.
Evaluate bicycle and pedestrian operations and safety.
Prepare parking demand analyses and parking assessments.
May act as technical resource for client.
Research local design standards for transportation studies.
Travel to and from job sites, other offices, and meetings.
May perform other duties as assigned.
