Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Traffic/Transportation Engineer to perform field observations, collect data, and conduct traffic analysis using HCS and Synchro. The role supports safety evaluations and prepares reports for large and medium-scale studies.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, 0–5 years of experience, and familiarity with MUTCD and AASHTO guidelines. Office-based work with occasional field duties is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–5 years of experience in traffic engineering or related field.
• Proficient in traffic analysis software such as HCS and Synchro.
• Familiar with MUTCD, AASHTO, and Highway Safety Manual.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation and collect traffic data.
• Learn and perform traffic analysis using HCS and Synchro.
• Conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
• Develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies.
• Assist in conceptual layouts for recommended improvements.
• Prepare technical memorandums and reports for large and medium-scale studies.
• Learn traffic control devices design using CAD.
• Coordinate with internal team to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Demonstrate strong technical writing and analytical skills.
