Job summary

Eaton in Laconia, NH is seeking a Junior Thermal Research Engineer to support the design, modeling, and experimental validation of advanced thermal management systems for high‑performance electronics in data centers, semiconductors, and aerospace.

You will apply thermal-fluid modeling, data‑driven engineering, and DOE methods to accelerate design cycles, improve system‑level insight, and contribute to CAD documentation and testbeds using Python, MATLAB, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Focus on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, or thermal systems.
• Laboratory experience; graduate research in thermal-fluid sciences preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop thermal management systems (liquid/cooling, CDUs, two-phase).
• Develop thermal-fluid models for system-level prediction.
• Conduct DOE and experimental validation with instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Create CAD models and maintain engineering documentation.
• Develop Python/MATLAB tools to support decision-making and research.
