Job summary

VIAVI Solutions is hiring an Associate Test Engineer for the AvComm Business Unit in Wichita, KS. This early-career role focuses on building real career experience in automated test systems for wireless test equipment, with a path toward Senior Test Engineer.

You will start with preventive maintenance of the test stands, learn to troubleshoot hardware and software, and contribute to test automation and process improvements under mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; internship, co‑op, or senior design is a plus.
• Foundational understanding of RF and electronic concepts; eager to deepen RF/microwave methods.

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance of test stands; maintain accurate PM records.
• Troubleshoot hardware, fixturing, and software issues on test stands.
• Contribute to test process improvements and instrument obsolescence assessments.
• Develop and debug automated test sequences under mentorship (TestStand/ANSI C).
• Communicate status, findings and blockers to Test Engineering and cross‑functional teams.
