Job summary

VIAVI Solutions in Wichita, KS is seeking an Associate Test Engineer to join our AvComm Test Engineering team. You will help build automated test systems for wireless equipment, support preventive maintenance, and contribute to test stand improvements.

The role offers a clear growth path toward Senior Test Engineer, with mentorship and hands-on exposure to RF/test methodologies and NPI projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
0–2 years of relevant experience; internship, co-op, senior design, or academic project with automated test systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting, hands-on problem solving, and RF/microwave test fundamentals.
Exposure to C/Python or similar languages; willing to learn ANSIC and TestStand.
Familiarity with RF/electronic test equipment and documentation practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; self-motivated and eager to grow.

Responsibilities

Preventive maintenance program enhancement across assigned test stands and documenting results.
Troubleshoot test stands with technicians and engineering to diagnose hardware, fixturing, and software issues.
Collaborate on test process improvement to reduce cycle time and increase coverage.
Assist in test automation development using TestStand and related tools.
Communicate status, findings, and blockers to leadership and cross-functional partners.
