Job summary

Topnotch Resort in Stowe, VT seeks an energetic tennis coach to teach and grow junior programs, while delivering high-quality instruction at our Tennis Center.

Design age-appropriate curricula, build a loyal lesson roster from juniors, guests and members, maintain equipment, and collaborate with the Tennis Director on programming.

You will hold USPTA or USPTR certification; expect hourly pay around $20 with commissions; strong English communication and sales skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Design age-appropriate tennis curricula (e.g., 10 and under) from beginners to tournament level.
  • Communicate progress and scheduling with parents.
  • Develop lesson clientele through juniors, guests, and member bookings (private/semi-private/clinics).
  • Provide safe instruction and identify hazards.
  • Assist in expanding and developing new programs.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and basic equipment upkeep.
  • Schedule daily lessons and attend staff meetings/trainings.
  • Promote programs via calls and marketing efforts.
  • String racquets and perform light Pro Shop maintenance as needed.

Job Overview: Participate in all aspects of tennis facility programming at the Tennis Center, focusing primarily on teaching, coaching and overall growth of junior players and programing.

  • Program Development: Design and implement age appropriate curriculum (e.g 10 and under tennis) from beginners to tournament level.
  • Parent Relations: Communicate clearly with parents regarding player progress, scheduling and program offering.
  • Develop Tennis lesson clientele through Juniors, Guest and Member private, semi-private, clinics and extra events
  • Provide safe instruction and identify potential hazards
  • Assist in expanding current and developing new programming
  • Manage financial success of tennis programs
  • Maintain current clientele - keep track of “out of town” clients to schedule services
  • Schedule and book next day lessons and activities
  • Daily and/or weekly meetings with Tennis Director
  • Promote programs through verbal communication (phone calls, marketing)
  • Attend all staff meetings & participate in staff trainings
  • Return all messages within 24-hours
  • Prepare self-evaluations and player evaluations
  • Maintain condition of own equipment including stringing your own racquets
  • Adhere to all guidelines and responsibilities outlined in the employee handbook
  • Provide coverage when requesting time-off
  • Maintain USPTA or USPTR Certification
  • Maintain accurate payroll records
  • Perform light court and Pro Shop maintenance tasks (sweeping, organization, etc.)
  • Weed balls
  • String racquets as needed
  • Performs other hotel duties as assigned

Hourly rate $20.00 plus teaching commisions

Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching/coaching experience is required. General and direct sales communication skills required with exceptional written and verbal English skills. General computer skills and basic skills in marketing and promoting. USTA 5.0+ level player.

Licenses or certificates:

USPTA or USPTR Certification required.
