Job summary

Werfen is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to contribute to the development and integration of innovative in‑vitro diagnostic systems. You will collaborate with software, hardware, assay development, quality and regulatory teams to support system design, testing, and risk mitigation in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

The role emphasizes design control, DHF contributions, and risk management, with travel up to 10% and a base salary range of $80k–$100k per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field (Systems/Bio/Mech/Electrical).
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in systems engineering, biotech, or medical device development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports development of new diagnostic instruments and improvements to existing instruments per design control.
• Communicates project status, risks, and technical challenges to leads and management.
• Performs system integration testing, verification, and validation activities.
• Executes V&V activities using statistical tools and reliability analysis.
• Supports troubleshooting, failure investigations, and risk assessments with root-cause analysis.
• Works with software, hardware, assay development, quality, and manufacturing teams to optimize performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

Education

Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering / Bioengineering / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Master’s degree preferred
