Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer (ESOH) in Stafford, VA to provide systems engineering support with ESOH emphasis, safety documentation, and coordination across the PMO. Targeted salary range is $75,000 to $90,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

The role requires a DoD/military environment background, ability to coordinate safety activities, and strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• BS/ BA degree in an engineering field.
• 2-4 years of professional experience.
• Experience with system safety, ESOH, safety engineering, risk management is highly desired.
• Knowledge of DoD or military system safety/ESOH processes is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.
• Experience in government or military environments is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
• Generate specifications or plans to support acquisition documentation.
• Support technical findings, opinions, or recommendations.
• Perform customer liaison and attend meetings.
• Coordinate safety and ESOH activities across the program PMO.
• Develop and update systems engineering documentation and plans.
• Participate in Configuration Management activities.
• Inform the program Integrated Master Schedule with key events.
• Analyze user requirements and update RTMs after tests.
