Job summary

The Scoular Company seeks an entry‑level Associate Systems Engineer to support design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of business systems and IT infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and support testing and deployments, while documenting processes and ensuring security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree.
• 0-2 years of experience preferred.
• Willingness and aptitude to develop within an AI‑assisted SDLC, using AI coding tools as a normal part of daily work.
• Understanding that AI‑generated code must be read, tested, and understood before submission; accountability stays with the engineer, not the tool.
• Willingness to learn and follow established standards, branch and review practices, and escalation paths.
• Working knowledge of IT‑related laws and compliance mandates (e.g., Sarbanes‑Oxley 404, PCI DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, Personal Information Privacy) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate efficiently and effectively with team members, business partners, and third‑party vendors to define and deliver contemporary solutions that solve business problems.
• Support business process enhancements and technical changes that deliver new value‑added capabilities and systems solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and senior engineers to analyze problems, document requirements, and contribute to functional and technical designs.
• Develop, test, and document solutions using Claude Code within the defined session lifecycle, on Scoular's standard stack.
• Follow defined change management processes, helping identify risks, documenting changes, and assisting with deployment.
