Job summary

HunaTek in Fort Walton Beach, FL, seeks a Junior Systems Administrator to support 24/7/365 operations across AFOSC PED sites. You’ll provide first-tier helpdesk support for PC, server, and software, and coordinate with network services to restore service.

Role involves system modifications, disaster recovery planning, and hardware deployment, with room to grow in security and systems engineering. DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2 is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2 certification required.
• Strong troubleshooting across software and hardware.
• Experience with Windows Client and Office applications.
• Knowledge of network cabling (fiber/copper).
• Experience with disaster recovery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-tier end-user support for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware.
• Collaborate with network services or applications teams to restore service.
• Reproduce user problems to resolve issues and errors.
• Suggest system modifications to reduce user problems.
• Assist with hardware installation during CERP cycles.
• Refer complex issues to higher level staff as needed.

Job description

The Junior Systems Administrator will provide systems administration and IT maintenance activities as required to support 24/7/365 operations across all AFOSC PED sites.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide first-tier support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware.
• Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.
• Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties and/or errors.
• Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
• Assist with CERP cycle rollouts to include hardware installation.
• Refer more complex problems to intermediate and/or senior level, as required.
