Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer I to ensure overall quality of supplied manufactured products. You will investigate nonconforming material, implement control plans, and support production by organizing scrap, sorts, and rework when needed.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers to prevent recurrence. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 0–3 years in manufacturing or quality engineering, and experience with inspection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering sciences and 0–3 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Quality Engineering role.
• Mechanical technical expertise and experience with basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, micrometers).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with CAD software.
• Experience evaluating and troubleshooting primary manufacturing processes at suppliers.
• Ability to clearly convey ideas to suppliers and internal customers, verbally and in writing; work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Review and disposition non-conforming material and assess issue culpability.
• Determine correct gaging methods and collect data for Gage R&R and bias; familiar with MRP, PPAP, Access.
• Proficient in print reading; identify external specifications and apply to inspection.
• Develop ISO-compliant standards under senior Engineers; understand ISO processes.
• Generate SCARs and drive them to completion; engage in continuous improvement projects.
• Follow 5S and safety/ISO procedures; communicate problems and corrective actions to leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers.
