Job summary

WSP USA in Hallowell, Maine seeks an Entry Level Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery Substation Team. You will contribute to detailed designs and support the department in delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions.

Ideal candidates will have a BSEE or BSEET with a power focus, strong communication skills, and the ability to work legally in the United States. Occasional travel is required as part of project work and QA/QC responsibilities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, preferably with a power option from an accredited university.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on.
• The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• 0-1 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Perform the detailed design of low to extra high voltage substations including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, and more.
• Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
• Learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes in a team environment.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and conduct.
• Involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.
