Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer (Water Department) in Overland Park, KS. The role involves contributing to design deliverables, data management, and basic calculations while aligning with budget and schedules.

You will work in a hybrid environment after onboarding and have opportunities to grow across projects and disciplines within a 100% ESOP-owned company.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying design guides, standards, systems and policies.
• Contributes to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports and studies.
• Performs routine research and makes recommendations for equipment and materials selection.
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.
• Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Shares information with others and coordinates with project leadership.
• Focuses on internal client needs while supporting external drivers when appropriate.
