Job summary

Selectek in Alabama is seeking a motivated Junior Structural Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the design and analysis of electric utility substation structures and foundations. You will perform structural analysis and design of steel and concrete components using STAAD.Pro and related software.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and has passed the FE Exam, with 0–2 years of structural experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
FE exam passed (EIT certification where applicable).
0–2 years of Structural Engineering experience.
Experience with STAAD.Pro or similar analysis software.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of utility substation structures, including equipment and bus support structures, steel frames, control buildings, and foundations and anchor systems.
Develop and analyze structural models using STAAD.Pro.
Assist in the preparation of calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
Review vendor drawings and equipment loads for integration into structural designs.
Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and client specifications.
Maintain project documentation and engineering quality standards.
