Uni-Systems Engineering in Plymouth, MN is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to apply engineering principles to operable structures and custom projects. You will perform design work, coordinate with drafters and engineers, and contribute to frame analysis, CAD modeling, and hand calculations for small to medium projects.

Qualifications

• U.S. person under ITAR due to export-controlled data.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (B.S. or M.S.).
• Plan to take Fundamentals Exam.
• Knowledge of current Civil/Structural codes and requirements.
• Experience with engineering software SAP2000, StaadPro, Risa3D, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or MATHCAD.
• Ability to think outside the box and solve complex structural design problems.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual and detailed structural design with design development.
• Estimate weights and members for proposals.
• Produce structural calculations and drawings; perform shop and field inspections.
• Coordinate with drafters and engineers inside and outside the company.
• Monitor design costs and schedules to meet budgets; facilitate client communication.
• Support project engineering from design through installation and commissioning.
• Visit manufacturing/vendor sites to inspect and communicate expectations.
• Provide technical expertise to support Uni-Systems Engineering Sales & Marketing.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality and performance.
