Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is hiring an Entry-Level Structural Engineer | Designer to support planning, analysis, and design of structural projects across multiple offices. You will work with experienced engineers on analyses, documents, and deliverables while gaining exposure to client interactions and site visits in a collaborative environment.

You will develop technical skills through mentorship, project experience, and professional development, with opportunities in seismic analysis and steel

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in structural engineering strongly preferred.
  • Alternative path: bachelor's in civil engineering with 1–2 years of highly technical design experience.
  • Core proficiency demonstrated through advanced coursework or project experience in: steel design, reinforced concrete design, structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering (West Coast).
  • Undergraduate GPA 3.40+; transcripts may be requested.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design under licensed engineers to develop safe solutions and contract deliverables.
  • Produce accurate, organized work reflecting company standards; manage scope, cost, and schedule while communicating progress.
  • Build relationships with project teams and clients through meetings, documentation, and clear communication.
  • Participate in site visits to observe conditions and connect design with field performance.
  • Grow technically and professionally through mentorship, feedback, and involvement in professional activities.
  • Take ownership of commitments and contribute to team and office success.
