Job summary

The Junior Structural Engineer role at C&Y Engineering is based in metropolitan Atlanta. You will design, analyze, and detail structural components for commercial and large residential projects, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers on drawings, specifications, and project documents while developing practical solutions. Applicants should have a degree in structural engineering and strong CAD/analysis software skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, and creating detailed drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and report writing abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop structural plans, designs, and detailed drawings for construction personnel, ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
Oversee construction and creation of structures and frames, making adjustments to ensure safety and integrity.
Inspect and analyze existing buildings to assess safety and viability for restoration or demolition as needed.
Collaborate on specialized structural details such as beam bracing and geotechnical compliance within foundation and concrete interfaces.
Plan and oversee layout of joints, slabs, elevations, and elevator machine room pits.
Ensure all work aligns with health and safety guidelines and contribute to technical specifications and structural calculations.
