Job summary

Siemens Energy in Richland, MS is seeking an entry-level Strategic Project Engineer to support the Operational Excellence team. You will help design and implement engineering-based improvement programs across Manufacturing, Logistics, and Quality, ensuring product and process integrity.

You’ll develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, and drive Lean initiatives such as Kaizen and 5S to enhance shop-floor efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • 1–2 years in manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a changing setting.
  • Committed to continuous learning and quickly applying new knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; proficient with MS Office and AutoDesk CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end operational project plans (schedules, budgets, resources).
  • Develop detailed designs, specifications, cost estimates, and project controls.
  • Monitor progress and risks; resolve issues to minimize delays and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders for manufacturing, facility expansion, and shop-floor projects.
  • Drive Lean initiatives, Kaizen workshops, and process improvements.
  • Support manufacturing operations by developing standards, selecting materials/equipment, and implementing 5S and capacity projects.
