Job summary

AllSearch Professional Staffing seeks a Junior Steel Estimator in Houston to support estimating activities for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and joist/deck projects. You will perform quantity takeoffs, review drawings, and analyze costs to help generate accurate bid packages.

The role offers a base salary in the 80k–90k/year range, plus an equity package and health insurance, with opportunities for growth within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in CM or CE or equivalent field experience.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs for steel and related scopes.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu.
• Understanding of AISC standards and metal fabrication processes.
• Strong math skills for weights, areas, and volumes.
• Ability to review drawings and identify scope accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed digital quantity takeoffs for structural steel components.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to identify scope.
• Assist with preparing project estimates by analyzing costs.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and subcontractors for pricing.
• Compile bid packages to support accurate pricing.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
• Occasionally visit sites to verify dimensions and conditions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in estimating workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and estimating teams during bidding.
