Job summary

KIHOMAC, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to install, configure, operate and maintain MS SQL Server databases across the MDA enterprise. You will monitor performance, implement backup/recovery strategies, and work with developers and architects on design decisions.

Required are an Associate's Degree, DoD 8570 Level II certification, 1+ year of MS SQL Server experience (including clustering and tuning), and experience with Azure or AWS databases. U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in technology or other relevant discipline preferred.
• DoD 8570 Level II Certification required (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
• 1+ year of experience with MS SQL Server 2019+ and related components.
• Experience with SQL Server clustering, performance tuning, monitoring, and backup/recovery.
• Knowledge of relational DBMS concepts, design, architecture, and operations.
• Experience with databases in Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, and maintain MS SQL Server databases.
• Implement performance monitoring and tuning to optimize databases.
• Develop and enforce database policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Support backup and disaster recovery strategies and tests.
• Collaborate with developers, owners, and architects on design and implementation.
• Conduct capacity and availability audits and stay current with new DB technologies.
