Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join the team at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. You will design and test the electrical subsystem for spacecraft, payloads, and technology demonstrators, focusing on power, avionics, grounding, and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (or related) and 1–3 years in an aerospace setting; familiarity with EEE parts, schematics, and verification is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of related Electrical/Aerospace experience is required.
  • Familiarity with spaceflight environments and EEE parts is essential.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, integrate, test, and manage the electrical subsystem of spacecraft and instruments.
  • Develop system architecture and electrical block diagrams; ensure electrical safety and grounding.
  • Lead PCB layout, parts selection, harnessing, and GSE considerations.
  • Create, review, and update electrical schematics; coordinate with other subsystems.
  • Perform electrical verification and validation, including ESS and environmental tests.
  • Interface with project managers and staff; communicate effectively with a diverse audience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related
1-3 years related experience
