Astrion is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join the team at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. The role focuses on designing, analyzing, and testing the electrical subsystem of spacecraft, payloads, and technology demonstrators, including power, avionics, grounding, and safety systems.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 1–3 years of related experience, strong schematic skills, and familiarity with Altium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical area
• 1–3 years in Electrical/Aerospace engineering or related field
• Knowledge of electrical, avionics, power generation/distribution, EEE parts, and harnessing for space environments
• NASA or industry spaceflight experience
• Detail knowledge of reading/evaluating electrical schematics and drawings
• Experience with electrical verification and validation incl. ESS and testing
• Able to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsabilités

• Design, analyze, integrate, test, and manage electrical subsystem of spacecraft, payloads and instruments
• Define system architecture and electrical block diagrams
• Design electrical subsystem: power generation/distribution, avionics, grounding, data signals
• Create work products and electrical interfaces for project ops and requirements
• Role involves PCB layout, harnessing, GSE, test procedures
• Read/update/review electrical schematics and drawings
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, C&DH, ADCS/GNC, and other teams
• Evaluate EEE parts for radiation environments including TID/SEE
• Coordinate PCB production and parts placement to NASA standards
• Forecast, track performance and provide insights to PMs and staff
• Interface with government/contractors and mission partners
• Some travel may be required
