Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an Entry-level Research Systems Engineer for the EITD group to support flight operations for space applications and to help develop system-level documents and perform verification testing on complex hardware.

The role involves travel to support testing and launches, collaboration across engineering disciplines, and a focus on safety, quality, and documentation in aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and one year of related experience required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement; STEM field preferred.
• Ideal candidate may work nights and weekends to support real-time flight operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
• Support meetings, teleconferences, and travel as required by projects.
• Travel to support testing and launch/return activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
