Job summary

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Junior Software Tester to help develop and maintain manual functional and user-acceptance tests for a global-scale networking situational awareness platform. You will work closely with developers and field operations to evaluate features, identify defects, and document results.

The role is onsite in Arlington, VA or Herndon, VA, with opportunities to grow in a collaborative environment that values security, reliability, and rigorous testing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Atlassian products.
• Basic knowledge of IT systems, networking, and problem solving.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual software product testing through web-based applications and supporting tools and investigates possible causes of problems.
• Develops and executes functional, end-to-end, regression, and user-acceptance tests in manual test environments.
• Assists with developing and maintaining test cases, test procedures, and test documentation.
• Detects, reproduces, troubleshoots, and documents software defects and feature requests with clear steps to reproduce and expected versus actual results.
• Works closely with developers and other members of the testing team to investigate defects and determine appropriate resolutions.
• Uses browser developer tools, logs, command-line utilities, and other diagnostic tools to investigate application behavior.
• Participates in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, refinement, stand‑ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Learns and applies basic scripting concepts using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Bash to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
