Job summary

Digital Avenues is seeking a Junior Software Test Engineer to join our Engineering / Quality Assurance team in Kolkata. You will test web and software applications, identify defects, validate features, and ensure quality before release.

Responsibilities include writing test cases, executing diverse testing, and collaborating with developers, product managers, and designers. Experience required is 1-2 years, with eagerness to learn test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Ability to write clear and structured test cases.
• Strong defect identification and reporting skills.
• Experience with functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Attention to detail and analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare and execute test cases, scenarios, and checklists.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Test web applications across browsers/resolutions/environments.
• Identify, document, and track defects with steps and evidence.
• Retest defects and perform regression testing after fixes.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in sprint planning and QA discussions.
• Perform basic API testing using tools like Postman.
• Perform basic SQL/database validations where required.
• Contribute to QA documentation, test reports, and release checklists.
• Learn and contribute to test automation using Selenium/Cypress/Playwright.
