Job summary

Storytime in SoHo, New York City is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer for Product & Growth. This role focuses on hands-on full-stack development using JavaScript/TypeScript with React and Node.js, collaborating with founders and cross‑functional teams to ship features near customer outcomes.

You will explore opportunities, propose solutions, build and release them to real users, and measure impact. Ideal for someone excited by startups, growth, and a small team environment.

Qualifications

• Graduating student or entry-level engineer with up to 2 years of experience.
• Comfort with web development using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Fundamentals of React, APIs, databases, and modern web development.
• Interest in startups and local commerce.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features across Storytime’s customer-facing and internal applications.
• Work across frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and relational data.
• Partner with users and nontechnical teams to turn operational pain points into thoughtful software.
• Help scope projects, identify tradeoffs, and break larger ideas into releases that ship quickly.
• Instrument features and use product data to understand user behavior and friction.
• Own projects from discovery through implementation, testing, deployment and iteration.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate bugs and production issues and improve underlying systems.
