Job summary

The SSI Group, Inc. in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to a modern Lakehouse Platform and maintain critical legacy systems.

You will collaborate with engineers, product owners, and management to deliver secure, scalable SaaS solutions in an agile setting, with emphasis on testing, logging, and performance tuning. Local Kubernetes for moving left validation and compliance with security/privacy requirements are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.
• Graduate Degree (Master’s) in CS is preferred.
• Experience with healthcare revenue cycle and electronic claims processing is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver new features and software applications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural designs and improvement proposals.
• Analyze and tune application performance; proactively identify scalability and reliability risks.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality standards across the codebase.
• Support release management to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of production systems.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve escalated production issues.
• Write unit tests and contribute to automated testing strategies.
• Identify and optimize slow-performing SQL queries and system bottlenecks.
