Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a team developing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems supporting critical mission needs in Laurel, Maryland. This is an early-career role offering hands-on software development experience within a collaborative engineering team.

The position involves analyzing requirements, designing and coding software, debugging defects, and integrating software into operating environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Four years of software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for databases and data repositories.
• Review and test software components and document test results.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Four (4) years of Software Engineering experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree
