Bedrock Talent, a partner with a fast-growing healthcare technology company, is hiring a Junior Software Engineer in New York City. You’ll contribute to backend services, APIs, and data pipelines from day one, working alongside experienced engineers and PhD-level data scientists.

This on-site role emphasizes learning, ownership, and collaboration as you translate complex data into software used by customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field from a rigorous program.
• Strong CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or similar languages through coursework, internships, or projects.
• Genuine passion for building software and solving challenging problems.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
• Curiosity, humility, and willingness to learn from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and APIs that power customer-facing products.
• Contribute to data ingestion and processing pipelines with emphasis on reliability and data quality.
• Build GenAI-powered product features that solve real customer problems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design scalable, maintainable systems.
• Work with data scientists to turn ML models into production software.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and tech decisions.
• Learn quickly, take ownership, and contribute across the product lifecycle.
• Strengthen engineering judgment and technical skills over time.
