Job summary

Insider One is a fast-growing B2B SaaS platform seeking a junior backend engineer to contribute to API development and data-driven features. You’ll work with Go or Python, write tests, and collaborate with a global team in English.

Ideal candidates have at least one end-to-end backend project, basic SQL/Git/Docker skills, and are in the early stage of their software career. This role emphasizes ownership and hands-on learning in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of software development experience, including internships.
• Built at least one project using Go or Python.
• Completed at least one end-to-end backend project (API, DB, tests).
• Basic understanding of SQL, Git and Docker.
• Strong English reading and participation in meetings in English.
• Experience using AI coding tools in real projects and guiding their outputs.

Responsibilities

• Develops backend services and APIs using Go or Python.
• Writes clean, tested, and maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers.
• Designs tables, writes queries, and improves database performance.
• Uses AI coding tools in daily work and reviews their output before shipping.
• Participates in code reviews and provides/receives feedback.
• Collaborates with teammates in English, in meetings and in documentation.
• Learns systems progressively and takes on more ownership over time.

What You Will Do

• Develops backend services and APIs using Go or Python

• Writes clean, tested, and maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers

• Works with databases to design tables, write queries, and improve performance

• Uses AI coding tools in daily work, and reviews and corrects their output before shipping

• Troubleshoots issues and helps find their root cause

• Takes part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback

• Collaborates with teammates in English, in meetings and in written documentation

• Learns our systems step by step and takes on more ownership over time

What You Will Need

• Have 0-2 years of experience in software development (internships included)

• Have built at least one project with Go or Python

• Have built at least one end-to-end backend project (API, database, and tests)

• Have a basic understanding of SQL, Git, and Docker

• Have good English skills: you can read technical documentation and join team meetings in English

• Have used AI coding tools in real projects, and can spot their mistakes and guide them to better results

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (or be in your final year)

Nice to Have

• Have built a project using AI/ML tools such as LLM APIs or vector databases, and are familiar with concepts like embeddings, recommender systems, or model evaluation

• Have built a project with a modern frontend framework (Vue.js preferred, React or Next.js also welcome) and connected it to your own backend or API

• Are comfortable working across the stack: backend, frontend, and basic infrastructure (Docker, CI, deployment)
