Peraton in Herndon, VA is seeking a Software Engineer II to support a large, classified program developing, operating, and maintaining mission-critical enterprise capabilities. You will contribute to Java full-stack development within a secure SCIF environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and polygraph or ability to obtain polygraph.
• Strong Java OOP development knowledge.
• Willingness to learn and be an effective team member.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Full-time work in a SCIF.

Responsibilities

• Apply agile development processes to implement features as defined by user stories, 3-week Sprints/3 Month Spins.
• Development using Java full stack.
• Develop/maintain platform related applications and libraries.
• Develop/maintain existing applications as requirements are requested and when updates are required.
• Candidate will resolve database issues and in creating new features/functionality for existing database.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to the position with 2+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree in an area relevant to the position; an additional 4 years of relevant experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
• ActiveTS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph
• Strong foundational knowledge working with Java OOP development.

Desired Qualifications:

• An already active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering life-cycle.
• Previous hands‑on experience through coursework or internships.
• Previous hands‑on coding experience with Python, React, Javascript, Postgres, & SQL.
