Job summary

Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) seeks a motivated Software Developer I to design, develop, and support modern applications, including Guidewire products. You will work with engineers and business stakeholders through the full lifecycle in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

The role emphasizes growth through hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to expand technical expertise while contributing to projects across teams. Fully remote work is offered.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 1+ years software development experience.
• Experience with formal software development processes and best practices.
• Hands-on development using MVC, client-server, or similar architectures.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, Gosu or .NET or other OO technologies.
• Experience with SQL and database concepts; able to translate requirements into design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support software across the development lifecycle.
• Prepare, design, and implement software for custom applications and Guidewire products.
• Estimate effort and timelines for design, implementation, and testing.
• Document, implement, and unit test code per approved designs.
• Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams on large projects.
