Summary

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our technology team and help create exceptional digital experiences for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guests. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, music, and culture, developing everything from interactive museum exhibits to internal business applications.

As part of our small, collaborative team, you'll work directly with directors and designers to build and maintain technology that serves millions of visitors and supports our mission to celebrate the history and impact of rock and roll.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and maintain interactive exhibits throughout the museum using web technologies, Electron, and Unity.
• Create digital experiences and marketing sites that engage our guests.
• Build internal applications and tools to support business operations.
• Deploy and maintain presentation systems and digital signage throughout the museum.
• Support ticketing kiosks and other on-premises business systems.
• Work with AWS cloud services to deploy and maintain applications.
• Integrate with various hardware including cameras, microphones, and payment terminals.
• Collaborate closely with designers on UI/UX implementation and provide technical feedback during the design process.

This isn't your typical development job. You'll gain experience across an unusually wide range of technologies and platforms, from cloud infrastructure to interactive hardware.

You’ll also be part of preserving and sharing the history of rock and roll, creating experiences that inspire and educate visitors from around the world.

This is a hybrid position requiring regular on-site presence at the museum in Cleveland, OH to test, demo, and troubleshoot technology in our physical space. You'll be part of a small, tight-knit technology team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent expertise through professional experience along with code certifications or boot camps and other code certifications will be considered. Ability to read and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical and manual skills. Ability to communicate and be articulate in Standard English.

Experience in Field

• 2+ years of experience (including internships) in software development is preferred.

• Finger Dexterity: Ability to pick, pinch or otherwise work with fingers to operate above equipment. Ability to pick up a variety of items and place them on shelves; to move knobs, buttons or switches.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands. Ability to shake, sort, fold or stack items; to place and retrieve items.

Work Schedule

• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays when supporting critical deployments or exhibit maintenance. Ability to work additional hours as business needs demand.

Benefits and Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $71,000 – $89,000, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
