Job summary

Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking a Junior Security Specialist to support the Department of Justice EOIR Office of Information Technology. The role focuses on cybersecurity operations, incident response, monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance within EOIR's IT Security Services program.

Responsibilities include monitoring alerts, analyzing events, triage, incident support, vulnerability remediation, and security reporting under the guidance of the Cybersecurity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in cybersecurity operations or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with SIEM, vulnerability scanning, endpoint security, and ticketing systems.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DOJ Public Trust clearance and US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cybersecurity alerts and events using government tools.
• Analyze security events from SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability tools.
• Assist with initial triage, investigation, and incident response activities.
• Document suspicious activity and potential incidents for records.
• Support daily cybersecurity operations and reporting tasks.
• Assist with vulnerability scans and remediation efforts.
• Develop lessons learned and contribute to security reports and briefings.
• Maintain incident records, SOPs, and supporting documentation.
