Helsing is seeking a Junior Security Engineer to join our security team. You will work across threat modelling, security tooling, and hands-on testing under a dedicated mentor, growing into more responsibility as you develop.

You will contribute to secure-by-default practices, while learning from experienced engineers and participating in audits and certifications. This role is designed for early-career engineers with strong foundations and curiosity.

Qualifications

• Built non-trivial software projects (security tools, automation pipelines, or similar).
• Able to reason about systems below abstraction (memory, networking, OS, hardware).
• Proven self-directed security interest (CTF, vulnerability research, bug bounties, open-source security contributions).
• Demonstrated initiative in student or early-career contexts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in threat modelling and security reviews with senior engineers.
• Develop security tooling and automation; write code to reduce manual work.
• Participate in security testing across systems and products.
• Own defined security workstreams as skills grow.
• Learn from security incidents and progress to hands-on response.
• Maintain security documentation and runbooks.
