Job summary

Bcore’s Springfield, VA team seeks a Junior Scrum Master to guide Scrum teams through program increments, facilitate events, and track progress to deliver value for government missions.

Required: Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and CI Poly eligibility; a Bachelor's in CS or related field; 3–5+ years leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and eligibility to obtain CI Poly.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience leading Agile Scrum teams, preferably in a cloud environment.
• Experience with DevSecOps and software development processes.
• Experience with Atlassian Agile products; Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Guide Scrum team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team.
• Organize and facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives and other agile events.
• Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Guide scrum-team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team
• Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events
• Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management
• Assist the scrum team in developing and estimating user stories that are clearly articulated with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs
• Assist with internal and external communication
• Assist product owners with backlog grooming
• Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
• Determine and remove impediments that interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver assigned goals
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
• Promote continuous improvement and help teams to increase velocity
• Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation
• Collaborate with fellow scrum masters to promote best practices
• Mentor junior scrum masters

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance (with SCI eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly

Education / Experience

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
• 3-5+ years of experience

Required Skills

• Experience leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps and /or software/application development processes
• Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically JIRA and Confluence

• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $134,000-$162,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
