Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Junior SAP ABAP Developer to design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions across the SAP landscape. You will deliver enhancements, integrations, reports, and forms while aligning with development standards and collaborating with functional teams and business stakeholders.

You will contribute to testing, deployments, and continuous improvement, develop ABAP objects, support UAT, and provide after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related area.
  • 4+ years related IT experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
  • Exposure to SAP Smart Forms, SAPscript and Adobe Forms.
  • Understanding of SAP development lifecycle, transports, debugging, and basic performance considerations.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Potential international travel depending on project need.

Job description

Position Summary

The Junior SAP ABAP Developer will design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions to meet business requirements across the SAP landscape. Delivering enhancements, integrations, reports, and forms to meet the business needs, ensuring solutions align with development standards. They will also troubleshoot and resolve defects, collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle, including support for testing, deployments, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
  • Leads directly, or co‑leads, complex and/or global digital and IT project tasks delivering business results that meet deadlines; provide guidance to project resources within and across multiple teams as needed.
  • Performs system analysis, interprets data to identify gaps in technology or processes and makes recommendations within the IT and/or business function.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new technologies/services, including communication and reporting to key stakeholders on status and project closure.
  • Communicates decisions & formalizes recommendations impacting area of responsibility to manager and business partners and key stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Point of contact assisting with most communications and project expectations with 3rd party IT and service vendors.
  • Manages own priorities and provides direction, guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Delivers multiple solutions while managing conflicting priorities and resources.
  • Conducts knowledge transfer and/or cross training with team members.
  • Empowers and encourages team members to provide feedback on ideas that deliver quality solutions. Ability to travel as needed.
  • Available to provide after‑hours technical support as needed.
  • Develop and enhance SAP Smart Forms, SAPscript, and/or Adobe Forms (ADS) based on functional specifications.
  • Support form layout changes, branding updates, language variants, and output requirement; create and maintain ABAP objects supporting forms and output (e.g., function modules, classes, includes, reports, interfaces).
  • Develop ABAP solutions from functional requirements provided by functional consultants.
  • Assist with configuration‑related investigations alongside functional/technical consultants (e.g., output types, partner functions, device types).
  • Produce technical documentation and support functional documentation as required.
  • Support unit testing, defect fixing, and assist in UAT and deployment activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related area (or international equivalent).
  • 4+ years related IT experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relates well with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude, learning agility, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively.
  • 1‑2 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
  • Exposure to SAP Smart Forms and SAPscript form technologies with Adobe Forms desirable.
  • Understanding of SAP basics: development lifecycle, transports, debugging, and basic performance considerations.
  • Ability to read and interpret functional specs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn in a client‑facing environment.
  • Potential international travel depending on project need.
Competitive Compensation
  • Pay Range: $88,000 to $146,400 annually.
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
