Job Summary

MSI-Viking Gage is seeking a driven Junior Sales Representative to take ownership of an assigned territory across Georgia and South Carolina and sell both precision measurement products and metrology services.

This is not a traditional 9-to-5 sales role. This is a territory to build, own, and grow. The people who do well in this role are motivated, competitive, comfortable spending time in customer facilities, and willing to put in the work to build lasting relationships and a strong book of business.

You’ll be responsible for finding accounts, understanding what customers manufacture and measure, identifying where they need help, and selling the right solution. Then you’ll go back and sell them the next one.

What You’ll Sell

Products

  • Hand tools and precision instruments
  • Bore and height gages
  • Surface finish and roundness equipment
  • Optical comparators
  • Vision systems
  • Portable arms
  • CMMs
  • Product lines including Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Mahr, Starrett, Waygate Technologies, Keyence, and Leitz

Services

  • ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration, both in-lab and on-site
  • Gage management and recall programs
  • Dimensional layout and first article inspection
  • PPAP support
  • CMM and vision programming
  • 3D scanning
  • Overflow inspection capacity
Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of an assigned territory in Georgia and South Carolina
  • Research prospective accounts before visiting
  • Prospect the installed base and identify new sales opportunities
  • Spend significant time on customer plant floors and in manufacturing environments
  • Build relationships with quality managers, shop owners, engineers, and other decision-makers
  • Sell both precision measurement products and metrology services
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in CRM
  • Participate in weekly pipeline reviews and monthly forecast calls
  • Communicate challenges and opportunities honestly and early
  • Follow through on commitments and maintain a high level of responsiveness to customers
What We’re Looking For

Can you sell? That’s most of it.

We will trade a degree and a tidy résumé for hustle, likability, and the ability to close every single time. Education and prior experience are helpful, but they are not the job. We have trained sharp machinists, inspectors, and quality technicians into excellent sales representatives, and we have seen polished candidates with the right background struggle when the role became difficult.

What doesn’t flex:

  • You show up, follow up, and do what you said you would do
  • You can talk to a quality manager and a shop owner in the same afternoon and connect with both
  • You have mechanical aptitude and can read a print and basic GD&T, or can learn quickly
  • You have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • You are genuinely willing to live in and travel throughout the assigned territory
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Helpful Experience

The following experience is a plus, but will not determine whether you can succeed in the role:

  • Product, capital equipment, or service sales experience
  • PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MetLogix experience
  • Exposure to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO/IEC 17025
Benefits & Compensation
  • Base salary plus uncapped commission on everything you sell
  • Quarterly incentive
  • Vehicle allowance and business expenses
  • Laptop and phone
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with Company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Fully paid factory training and certification
Physical & Travel Requirements
  • 50–70% travel throughout the assigned territory
  • Extended time on customer plant floors
  • Ability to lift demonstration equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Some customer sites may require background checks or site-specific safety certifications
Why Work for MSI-Viking?

Our customers measure to a ten-thousandth of an inch. They’ll notice if you wing it, and they’ll buy from you for twenty years if you don’t.

If you can sell a second CMM to a shop that swears one is plenty, we want to talk.
