Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) seeks a Safety Engineer with a graduate background and a one-year full-time safety diploma to oversee on-site OHSE compliance and audit readiness. The role focuses on implementing safe work practices and ensuring documentation for audits.

You will conduct weekly site safety inspections, lead risk assessments, coordinate HSE inductions, and ensure adherence to legal requirements and building regulations while advancing a Zero Accident Policy across the project team.

Qualifications

Job description

Any graduate along with one year Full time safety diploma from a recognized institution.

• Ensuring compliance of basic OHSE rules and applicable specifications. To frame safe rules and safe working practices and ensure of on-site implementation. To have all the necessary OSHE documentation prepared for audits. To investigate incident / accident, occupational diseases contracted and reportable dangerous occurrences. To conduct weekly site safety inspection, routine OHSE audit and to prepare inspection report thereof.
• Well verse with activity hazard analysis and mitigation measures.
• To conduct site safety inspection, hazard & risk assessment & HSE induction training regularly.
• To ensure implementing of HSE Policy, Program & Procedures at the sites.
• To increase Health & Safety awareness among workers & staff.
• Fully aware of Work Permit systems.
• Complete knowledge of Legal Compliances.
• Knowledge of accident investigation procedures and able to prepare safety reports and safety violation reports.
• The Safety Engineer needs to ensure that the work meets all the legal requirements and Building Regulations
• Ensure strict compliances of project OHSE specifications throughout the project.
• Make sure that all construction activities are being carried out in accordance to preset safety rules and regulations
• Provide technical advice to field staff in order to ensure that construction work to proceed in safe and secure manner.
• Identify construction constraints and plan to carry out measures to counter them.
• Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices. Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs.
• Implement, administer and advise others on hazard control programs.
• Draft a future safety plan and statement based on real time experiences and facts.
• Actively lead to promote the Zero Accident Policy throughout the project.
